This Privacy Policy describes how FYRO Player ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of users ("you", "your") who use our Android application and website at www.fyroplayer.com.

By using FYRO Player, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our app or services.

Information We Collect

FYRO Player collects minimal data required for the app to function:

Device Identifier (MAC Address): A unique ID generated from your Android device ID, used to identify your device for subscription management and playlist association. This is not your hardware MAC address — it is a hashed value derived from Android system identifiers.
Device Information: Device model and Android version for compatibility and analytics purposes.
IP Address: Your last login IP address is recorded for security purposes (fraud prevention).
Account Information: If you create an account on our website, we store your email, username, and a hashed (bcrypt) password.
Connection Credentials You Provide: When you add a playlist, your Xtream Codes URL/username/password or M3U URL is stored only to enable playback. We do not access or stream the content from these sources on our servers.

What we do NOT collect: We do not collect your name, phone number (unless you opt in), GPS location, contacts, photos, files, or any biometric data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

To authenticate your device and manage your subscription
To deliver your saved playlist configuration to your device
To process promo code redemptions
To provide customer support through our ticket system
To display relevant announcements via the marquee system
To detect and prevent unauthorized usage, cloning, or fraud
To improve app performance through anonymous device analytics

Android Permissions Used

The app requests the following permissions, each with a specific purpose:

Internet: Required to connect to your playlists and our servers.
Network State: To detect online/offline status.
Notifications (Android 13+): Optional, for program reminders if you set them.
Boot Completed: To restore reminders after device reboot.
Wake Lock: To keep the screen on during playback.

The app does NOT request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or storage outside its own folder.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

Passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt encryption
All API communications use HTTPS (TLS) encryption
We do not store or transmit your playlist content — only the connection credentials you provide
Access to admin systems is restricted to authorized personnel only
Regular security audits and software updates

However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information as best as possible.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

Active accounts: Data is retained while your subscription is active.
Expired accounts: Account and playlist data is retained for up to 12 months after expiry, then permanently deleted.
Support tickets: Retained for up to 24 months for service quality.
On request: You may request immediate deletion at any time (see "Your Rights" below).

Data Storage Location

Your data is stored on secure servers located on infrastructure provided by our hosting partner. By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your data to this server location.

Content Disclaimer

FYRO Player does not provide, host, or distribute any media content, channels, or streaming services.

The app is a media player only. Users are responsible for adding their own playlists from legitimate third-party providers. We are not responsible for any content accessed through user-provided playlists. Users must ensure they have the legal right to access and play any content they add to the app.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

When required by law, court order, or legal process
To authorized resellers, only for subscription management purposes related to that user
Anonymous aggregated analytics (no personally identifiable information)
When you explicitly authorize such sharing

We do not use third-party advertising networks, analytics services that track users across apps, or social media plugins.

Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses minimal session cookies required for login functionality. The mobile app does not use any cookies or third-party tracking SDKs. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking technologies in the app.

Children's Privacy

FYRO Player is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). If we learn that we have collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly.

How to delete your account:

From the app: Open Settings → Manage Playlists → remove all playlists.
Full account deletion: Email us at privacy@fyroplayer.com with subject "Account Deletion Request" and include your registered email or device MAC. We will delete your data within 14 business days.
